with this image i conclude the pages about folly
the best friend i have ever had
mijn lieve meid - my lassie
the pages have been made as a tribute to her
i worked on them for four weeks after her death
as my therapy?
a way to be close to her after she had gone
folly gave me some of the best years of my life
so this picture i kept for almost nine years in my wallet
(until some months after her death
when i placed it at a special place at my home)
it was taken on a slightly snowy terrace
the terrace of our home, in december, 1995
folly then 18 months of age
on june 8, 2005, exactly at the date and time
one year after she died
i went to spread folly's ashes at two of her favorite spots at clingendael
and buried the tin from which the ashes came
at another place in clingendael
i learnt a lot from being ten years with folly
one of the things i learnt: i must have a dog as a companion
so, july 16, 2004, i went and got lotte from the shelter
ofcourse i miss folly
lotte came to live with me thanks to my years with folly
