| i have never really been interested in perfumes and how they are created.
this amazing novel with a surprising plot keeps you busy from the first
page to the last, when you lay it down, amazed.... and meanwhile you have
learnt - indeed - how perfumes are made
than in 2002 i visited grasse, where my uncle jan lived at that time, and found myself in the midst of the fields where flowers are grown for perfume, at the centre of perfume making (more about me being there in 4693 sticks, the website i created as a memory to my first dog: folly)
